I'm interested in what you've said here. Not only does it describe me but, if Nintendo are tracking it, it explains why they're one of the few companies I would trust to continue making the kind of solid, single player experiences that I enjoyed when I wasn't 'lapsed'.

I have no interest in 'e-sports'ey online multiplayer because I don't want to invest time to be good enough to enjoy it. I don't want to invest in a game-as-a-service because I don't want to feel trapped in it.
