I would estimate that between 10% and 15% of FAANG software engineers are senior or higher. It does take a few years of being at senior for pay to ratchet up to the $350k range that is typical of long-tenured senior engineers at FAANG companies. A newly-minted senior engineer will be more in the $300k range |
