You are mistaken if you think humans have changed or "evolved" that much in that short period of time.

You could even argue humans have gotten more superstitious and brutal. Would humans of the past dropped nukes on hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children of their enemies rather than sparing most while killing a few? Or maybe "man is the cruelest animal".
