According to this it takes 42ms to get from Paris to SF at the speed of light in a fiber in the great circle path across Earth's surface. Ping is rtt, so that would be 84ms. https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=paris+to+san+francisco... On the topic of websites taking a long time to compute something, Wolfram Alpha is slow. I wonder if any of that slowness is artificial like flight price websites. |
