In Belgium, you can't just stop showing up without consequences. You need to give 6 weeks notice, otherwise, they can take legal action against you, along with firing you, which means you lose any claim to unemployment benefits. Likewise, if you quit voluntarily, you aren't entitled to unemployment right away. But I agree, you'd most likely want to have your next job lined up before putting in your notice. |
