In addition to the the frustration, I think there's a lot of idealism around programming, whether that comes from the media, forums, Twitter, the blogosphere, etc. You dream of best practices and beautiful code and trendy frameworks but find the reality is writing error handling code for malformed CSVs you import from a website that looks like it was last updated in 2002. As in all things, you learn as you get more mature that the world is no where near as beautiful as you were told, and often the messengers are nothing more than that, and haven't written production code in years.
