It's difficult to figure out how storage is used in gmail. I downloaded my data and did a little analysis, summarized here: https://i.imgur.com/x6yQBQu.png. As of that time, my mailbox was using 17GB (14GB of which are in one long-running thread), and 900MB of that was email reply quotes. Google refuses to provide an option to disable email quotes, which are completely useless in an email thread of all gmail accounts. I want my 900MB of free storage back, dammit! Also, there's no way (AFAIK) to delete images attached to emails, while keeping the messages. |
