> A person close to AWS said its data transfer charges reflect a range of technology costs customers would normally pay if they weren’t using cloud services, including fiber optic connections, networking hardware devices and software, cybersecurity services and network monitoring software. I'd believe this more if the pricing of bandwidth on AWS hadn't stayed pretty flat since its launch. Plus, it's frustrating that AWS Lightsail (https://aws.amazon.com/lightsail/pricing/) offers a $3.50/month plan with 1 TB of transfer. That terabyte alone will cost you $92.07 on a normal instance, and the $3.50 includes storage and an instance! |
