Even though the power of the Monarch is theoretical, this still makes for an important distinction because appearances shape the way people think about things. Just recently we had the PM successfully taken to court for ”misleading advice to the Queen”. So it’s all part of the “checks and balances”. |

I don't know, we have a PM here and not a President, and it's not really that great either.
(We threw our kings out a while ago).
