Points 2 and 3 heavily depend on the field you’re in. I’m currently in the medical field and not a single MD here has ever heard of or used LaTeX, type-setting is all done by the journals. The rest of your argument is of course spot on! The most ironic part of the current system was once having to use sci-hub to download my own paper, as we didn’t have a subscription to the specific journal... |
