I was at a local restaurant a while back and ordered the "Impossible Meatball Sub" -- thinking it was some massive, overly-filled submarine that I'd never finish (call me nieve). Quite honestly, I was beyond angry to learn (literally halfway through my meal) that it was actually an alternative meat substitute. I didn't finish it. If restaurants are designating menu items as "vegan friendly" and "gluten-free" then they should indicate the items that are made with meat substitutes masquerading as real meat. Maybe others do, but this restaurant did not. I'm skeptical of these products and I really felt duped after ordering and eating some of it when, if I knew ahead of time, I'd have never put that product into my body. Hmm, end rant I suppose! :) |
