My point is running desktop linux apps. My point is that it is NOT "optionally" but officially and encouraged.

Also your notion of chromebooks is about a decade out of date.

Oh I see, we've shifted the goalposts from Linux on the Desktop to Linux Apps on a proprietary OS on the Desktop.
