What I don't see anywhere is chemical-based recycling. Many plastics can be dissolved in acetone, for example. Shred it all to flakes, put it in a vat of acetone, burn the stuff that isn't dissolvable and then take the raw materials out of the acetone? Or is the dissolving-into-acetone part a non-reversible operation and one ends up with a boatload of contaminated acetone? |
