Rather than coming up with excuses for your daughter, you could be one of the people that is giving a shit and doing something. We look back with awe and pride at people who fought for what was right in the past. Why not let your daughter have some awe and pride for you/us? There is a lot to be done. Get angry and get active. Go out on the streets and cause a ruckus until those who have the power to change things have no choice but to do so. Anything less than this essentially amounts to "collaborating with the system" that is destroying the future.
