Your phone hardware might work for many years, but you will probably stop getting security patches for the software soon, so it won't be in great condition security-wise. Newer applications might start using features in newer version of the OS. The software, frozen in time, will make it gradually less and less usable even though the hardware is fine. By contrast, my PC is over 10 years old and runs the latest up-to-date versions of the kernel, drivers and other software. I'm hoping the Librem 5 will be similar. |
