I was in this field. In 2012, tt was already seen as a crazy accomplishment in showmanship and fundraising. Everybody in the field thought this was irresponsible and foolhardy, but good for the field overall. Long story short, I left for machine learning as everybody else without wet lab experience also did from my lab. |
