Ask HN: What Are the Best Meetups in Los Angeles?

I'm learning front-end web development and concentrating mostly on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React. Anything comparable to React is welcomed, and not necessarily required.

I've found a lot of the popular meetups are hosted by big bootcamps, which I've heard mixed reviews of.

Are there any good meetups on Meetup.com in Los Angeles that are not hosted by these large web developer bootcamps? Or are the ones hosted by them actually really good?

My main goal is to learn (I'm a beginner to slight intermediate) and to network.
