At a specific part of the trailer, I believe it is said that: "Last year(?) data surpassed oil in value. Data is the most valuable asset on Earth".[1]

Being a trailer it is natural that no actual proof is provided, but is there any credit to this claim?

They probably include the value of companies like FB and Google whose primary product relies on third party data. Other than that, I doubt data brokerage is worth more than a couple of billions, at most.
