Of course. The only change I've seen recently developing fast is how much more knowledge a web programmer should have now, it isn't only about learning a language or it's framework; you should also know what DevOps is and how it works, Cloud infrastructure etc.

Also, translating the requirements into good delivery is pretty crucial now, a web programmer is expected to take on a lot more ownership of the product/project they work on. But like @davismwfl said, it is here for long to stay. Good luck!
