I am pretty sure that HDMI CEC has a way to enumerate the connected devices and see if there's anyone alive on the other end of a cable. Assuming the other end also does CEC. Now, if only we could convince PC graphics manufacturers to support CEC instead of ignoring it. It seems the only people who do care are the little set-top boxes that run Nvidia Tegra or Qualcomm chips. |
