My experience with Matrix compared to XMPP, is that Matrix is way ahead in usabiliy. I wanted to get people to use XMPP for years, but I always found too much lacking. Matrix is not there yet, cross device signing has to land. But the way it is moving is way more promising than XMPP. (I also remember that federating with Google was always painful) |
