I've been constantly logged in to IRC at home since 2002 or so. I am active nearly every day. At work most of the coordination between programmers is via IRC--even though we're all in the same room. So yeah, IRC is still used. Anecdotally the population of some popular channels on freenode that I frequent has never been higher. |
