Cryptojacking is a well-known, major problem for cloud compute providers. Catching and squashing new exploits that allow people to create a fresh account, run up compute bills and then abandon the account without paying is very important. My guess would be that this is such a well-known problem (within the field of cloud compute at least) that they just didn't think they had to state that normal crypto mining by paying customers is completely fine. |
