I've worked with wood for a few years now, and I wish I would have found Rex Krueger's channel earlier (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj4SLNED1DiNPHComZTCbzw/vid...). I'd say his primary intent is to get you started with the minimal amount of cost, and his videos get to the point faster than many other instructional videos.
