There's so much talk about the growing inequality that I tried to find out what would happen if the rich were mobbed and all the money redistributed. According to [0] there were 73,110 ultra wealthy US citizens in 2017, i.e. individuals with more than $30m in net worth. The same article says that the average net worth in this group is $120m. In aggregate this group thus controls 120m * 77 110 = 9.3 trillion dollars.
