I think it’s fine to assume they may be acting genuinely. The alternative would be to see this as propaganda, and dismiss Apple as nothing more than a bunch of suits making decisions based on short term gains over long term health and stability. Because why would any corporation, especially Apple, attempt to act rationally, right? I have no horse in this race, but running a company, I know it’s possible to also have our truth and want to communicate it in a way that’s easy to understand. I don’t know if Apple is, but not every company has to be this demonic incarnation-of-evil we want to make them out to be. |

To help balance my own view here I would like to say I enjoy the effort they put into their review process. As a developer I'm too spooked by the one-sided agreement you have to sign to bother with the platform though.
