Not sure about the state of the world currently after living in BigCo filter bubble for the past few years, but do you even need custom tools to calculate the delta between the schema as checked into VCS vs the database's actual state? Spanner (https://cloud.google.com/spanner/) I think can auto-compute the diff between its current state and a given schema, generate appropriate SQL statements to perform a migration and get user confirmation for destructive schema changes. |
