The debugger is just another tool in the toolbox. Turning a blind eye to one of your tools is disingenuous. Step by step debugging has its uses and some work environments may favor it. And in fact, I'm am quite sure that guys like Linus are competent in using them and will do when needed. It is just that it is not their favorite tool and it is not well suited too their project. |
