Ordinary and necessary business expenses (expenses incurred with a reasonable overall expectation of profit) are, in general, deductible in the US because we tax income. Personal expenses are not. People end up paying all taxes anyway, just sometimes one or two steps removed from the legal entity/TIN who files the returns. |
