I work at one of these “everything is on fire, nobody has time, going a million miles an hour, hiring inexperienced people” places. They are not good. They may make you feel like you’re really learning loads and taking on lots of responsibility. You’re actually mostly learning hacks that work in an emergency and learning to be taken advantage of and do multiple people’s jobs. Why do you think they hire inexperienced people and put them straight on production fixes? It’s because inexperienced people are cheap and won’t say no to anything. Management there are likely very dysfunctional. Get out!
