Maybe think of it as the article describing life-jackets and basic swimming strategies to help those that may be drowning. In your experience you were thrown out into the rough seas and survived just fine-- I don't think it would be right to deride someone for drowning by saying that in their situation you would swim just fine. There are many inputs to the system/society that outputs an article like this one, and this is perhaps what you are pushing back against-- and reasonable people would. |
