The author mentions that the asteroid has about 30 times the mass of Earth; I don't know if that is true or not; but I see no reason why this could be a problem. The fact that they can't find out exactly what the asteroid will orbit doesn't make it a problem. It's just not a big enough deal.

The first thing that came to my mind was the possibility for an asteroid on the moon or the asteroid heading to earth in 2020...

I'm not sure if I like this article, but it reminds me when my dad taught us how to run a solar system and think about why it is so dangerous to run our solar system.
