Inflammable means flammable? What a country!

'Evitable' means 'avoidable'. 'Inevitable' means 'not avoidable'. They mean the opposite, which is what you'd expect.

It's nothing like 'inflammable' and 'flammable', which mean the same thing. Those two have different roots which is why there is confusion.
