It strongly depends on where you live. For instance in Los Angeles, there is an excellent market for Perl folks. Just south in Orange County you couldn't get a Perl job to save your life. What kinds of industries are in your area, and what technologies do they use? Whatever they are using now they will need maintained in 5 years, so don't worry too much about whether it is a sexy, cool technology. Just worry about getting the first job in something that is employable in your area. Good luck. |
