Demdex was a running joke among NY Hadoop developers earlier this year. Every Hadoop developer would get around a dozen e-mails about Demdex. Demdex was using TONS of external recruiting companies. Everyone was being bombarded about Demdex. Much of the local community grew tired of them and wanted to know why everyone was ignoring them.
