We do something very similar to this where I work. Week 1 is not a vacation for us. Each developer has work assigned for the cycle but it might be high level or vague. We spend the first week designing the feature and nailing down requirements. We also do allow very important stuff to get added to the cycle. We have very brief standups at the begging of each week, but we also communicate throughout the cycle over slack. It works very well for us as a small team of five developers. |
