I have a (slightly) more optimistic view of seeing everyone on their phones all the time. When you're on your computer at home, you withdraw into it, too. It's your cave. Phones give people a way to get into their caves anywhere they want. It's like everyone's out in their PJs, trying to have private time in a public place. Obviously, it's a very bad thing when someone decides not to leave her mental cave while strolling through traffic (worse still if she's behind the wheel). I just think it's a more humanistic view than the zombie angle. |
