I mean, what else would you expect from a press release announcing a product release by a company? An engineering spec?

To be more specific, I'm talking about the headline on HackerNews.
That's the exact headline, which is what you're supposed to use.
Not always. From the guidelines:

> If the original title begins with a number or number + gratuitous adjective, we'd appreciate it if you'd crop it. E.g. translate "10 Ways To Do X" to "How To Do X," and "14 Amazing Ys" to "Ys." Exception: when the number is meaningful, e.g. "The 5 Platonic Solids."

> Otherwise please use the original title, unless it is misleading or linkbait; don't editorialize.

This is not quite clickbait, and perhaps not objectively misleading either, but definitely falls in the "amazing Ys" category.

I find my self amused by your comment, since on a number of occasions when I've posted the exact headline, it's been edited by moderators.
Which reads "New iPad air and iPad mini"
The initial HN submission had the same press release title: "All-new iPad Air and iPad mini deliver dramatic power and capability". May be a moderator changed it.
