Christian prayer is usually non-repetitive. However I know in other religions (Islam say) that prayer is more often strictly formalised. I guess if you used the Book of Common Prayer or something then it would work for Anglicans too. More like meditation, it made me think of Ps119:97+ or the last para of Phillipians; or indeed any of multiple places where the Bible reader is encouraged to meditate on scripture and hold it in their hearts (or indeed as the Jews act out "pin it to your forehead"). |
