i thought yc funded something like this back in 2011/12 called clerky.

It is true. Clerky operates in the same space, but currently they use different model (pay per document, essentially). We take a different approach and offer legal documents for free, but want to use this to become the first point of contact for startup legal work. We will monetize by offering tailor-made automation of contract workflow and follow-up legal advice on operational legal matters (like a virtual general counsel for startups).
