I would take a look at archive.org for gaming/hardware sites. Hardware sites used to be a huge thing back then, when every geek was drooling over the latest gear, whether it be CPUs, motherboards, network cards, sound cards (for real SB Live! Ftw!), gpus, etc. Firingsquad was a big one- It was originally started by a guy who won John Carmack's ferrari in a quake tournament if I remember the story right: http://web.archive.org/web/19990101000000*/firingsquad.com Others you may want to look at:
