I've noticed in "DevOps" you will be forced to basically learn an entire new way of doing things every year. There is something about it being so close to the business oriented people that they make demands closer to the specific tech rather than just requiring a solution to the problem. I think this contributes to the obsession with tools by my peers rather than obsession with the goal and why I hope to move into a more SRE-like role at some point. |
