I can’t imagine the blowback about censorship would be worth this.

Censoring will just draw more attention and traffic. What’s really unsettling is that GitHub is playing politics with its users, without even informing them or communicating with them. You would think they would have the courtesy to tell the owner.

I don't think they're playing politics, I think they're playing "don't get your arse kicked by the government". Very interesting that someone wants to know the names and emails of everyone accessing OSS deep fakery - I wonder what else there is...
