And in IoT some would not need a modular kernel at all. A monolith kernel would fit the purpose. Because an IoT device normally has a fixed purpose depending on the additional hardware. There is no plug'n'play requirement. The only problem with the Linux kernel these days is its sizes. Because with Cortex M3/M4 processors we still have sizes constraints. |
