Because by moving to Chromium, Microsoft increased Google's control of the browser ecosystem by killing one of the last remaining competitors to it. Now only Firefox is left. Before they dropped Edge, a move like this would have been a great marketing opportunity for Microsoft: "Come to Edge, where your ad blocker still works." |
