I have the same CNC including the laser and decided to upgrade it with a 3D printer head. I attached an Arduino to the wire normally connected to the spindle motor and translated the signal into a PWM signal for the extruder. Temperature was controlled using the same Arduino.
Yes, it worked and yes, it took the better part of a month of work. But definitely fun and educational. |
