Yeah, the Oracle installer does / used to do all those things. Apart from anything else, you will now end up agreeing in the fine print not to use Java for certain purposes. Basically, don't use anything Oracle to do with Java. Fortunately there are good ways to get it. OpenJDK and Azul have much more hassle free installations now. I personally use sdkman [1], but conda [2] is another very easy way to get java that won't hassle you. Not that I'm trying to persuade you or anything - I was just curious! [1] https://sdkman.io/
