Most modern airliners are significantly more efficient than driving a car.[1] It seems like reducing overall distance traveled is more effective than trying to reduce carbon emissions on a specific flight. It may not be an option in your area, but you could switch to a green energy company. The actual lines going to the house/apartment don't change because the grid is shared.
