A large amount of Louisiana's employment is in resource extraction. Petroleum refining, petroleum, and coal products are the LA's largest exports. As a result, the drop in oil prices since 2014 have had a large effect on Louisiana's economy. That said, I agree that property tax is probably the least bad tax. |
