Unsubscribing from these emails (Facebook, Twitter, idk, doesn't matter) is a chore, they make you go through lots of hoops and then they ignore the request and keep spamming you anyway. Also, by unsubscribing you're revealing to them that you are opening and reading those emails, which is something you probably don't want to disclose.

The best solution is to simply configure a filter in your email client so those emails go to the trash directly.

Or nuke your account. I deleted my Facebook account halfway last year. Haven't received a single e-mail since.
You can't delete accounts. Only deactivate them. But if you ever log in again it all comes back up as it was before you deactivated it,

This was a huge problem for my wife because her deactivated account got hacked and then myself and all of her friends and family started getting spam.

You can delete it you just have to jump through some hoops: https://www.facebook.com/help/224562897555674/
Is that a new thing? I didn’t see that option when we looked and I seem to recall it was a common complaint at that time too. I wonder if that’s come about because of GDPR?

Anyhow, it’s handy to know it is there so thank you.
